This book tells the story of some of the colorful characters that have lived along State Route 21 (Danville Boulevard and San Ramon Boulevard). Little known events and landmarks are also described. The evolution of the road is detailed as it emerged from a dirt track in the 1850s, all the way up to its replacement by Interstate 680 in the 1960s.
