Fourth of July Hometown Parade Returning To Main Street

The Martinez Fourth of July Hometown Parade and related Independence Day activities will mark the nation’s birthday.

Roxx on Main, 627 Main St., is sponsoring the pancake breakfast that starts at 8 a.m.

The flag raising ceremony at Veterans Memorial Building, 930 Ward St., will be at 8:30 a.m. and the Hometown Parade will start at 10 a.m.

More than 40 entries are expected to participate in the parade, which starts at Court and Main streets and ends at Alhambra Avenue.

Chamber Board Meets Today

The Martinez Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will meet at noon today in the Martinez Unified School District building, 921 Susana St.

Poker Game To Help Adoptable Pets

The Martinez Rotary Poker For Pets Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at 1304 Roman Way. Advance tickets are $60 and admission at the door is $75.

The event will benefit the Contra Costa County Animal Services.
