MARTINEZ, Calif. – A ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 10 will mark the official opening and completion of the Las Juntas Elementary Playfield Renovation Project, according to a statement released by Martinez Unified School District.
Such dignitaries as District 5 Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover, who represents Martinez on the Board of Supervisors, and East Bay Regional Park District Director Colin Coffey, will participate in the ceremony.
The project has been designed to provide a functional outdoor space for both pupils and staff of Las Juntas Elementary School during the school’s hours as well as for residents of the neighboring community when school is not in session, the statement said.
Money for the comprehensive project came from East Bay Regional Park District Measure WW, the Contra Costa County Department of Housing and Development and the Martinez Unified School District Measure K.
The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Las Juntas Elementary School, 4105 Pacheco Blvd.
