Martinez Police blotter for Feb. 16-28, 2019

On February 16th at 1:38 am, Officer Angoco responded to an apartment complex in the 800 block of Brown Street for a woman yelling loudly and throwing items at her neighbor’s door. The woman refused to come out and speak with police, but was given a warning. Approximately twenty minutes later Officer Angoco returned to the apartment for the same complaint. The woman was arrested for public intoxication and disturbing the peace of another. Case# 19-498.

At 8:30 am, Sergeant Ferrer took a stolen vehicle report from a resident in the 1000 block of Maywood Lane. Case# 19-499.

At 10:45 am, Officer Sousa contacted a man at Douglas Drive and Pine Street. The man was arrested for a warrant. Case# 19-500.

At 11:30 pm, Sergeant Salamid arrested a man in the 700 block of Escobar Street for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Case# 19-506.

On February 17th at 3:12 am, following a traffic stop, Officer Lucido conducted a probation search at the male driver’s residence on Alhambra Court. The search resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia. The subject was arrested. Case# 19-507.

On February 18th at 5:41 am, Officer Montano conducted a traffic stop on Alhambra Avenue at E Street. The passenger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and under the influence of a controlled substance. Case# 19-509.

At 11:46 am, Officer Miller arrested two men at Amtrak for public intoxication. Case# 19- 511.

On February 19th at 10:33 am, Officer Voyvodich investigated a shooting threat written on a mirror in the bathroom at the Junior High School. The threat was deemed not credible and a juvenile was arrested. Case# 19-514.

At 4:35 pm, Officer Winslett took an auto burglary report from a resident in the 1500 block of Martindale Drive. The unknown suspect(s) took approximately $1000.00 in tools from a locked truck bed. Case# 19-521.

On February 20th at 1:24 am, Officer Lincoln received an LPR stolen vehicle alert on a vehicle travelling eastbound Hwy 4 from Hercules. A high risk stop was made on the vehicle near the Morello Avenue exit. The male driver was a parolee at large and had an additional warrant. He was arrested. Case# 19-525.

At 7:48 am, Officer Voyvodich contacted and arrested a man in the area of Yale Street and Palm Avenue for possession of a controlled substance. Case# 19-526.

At 8:15 am, Officer Carney recovered a stolen vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Yellowstone Drive. Case# 19-527.

At 12:52 pm, Officer Voyvodich responded to the Junior High School for a report of a threat written on toilet paper in the girl’s bathroom. Numerous girls had access to the restroom during the time of discovery, and no suspect has been identified at the time of investigation. Case# 19-533.

At 2:10 pm, Officer Miller responded to 700 Ferry Street for a woman causing a disturbance. She was arrested for a warrant. Case# 19-535.

On February 21st at 7:25 am, Officer Souza responded to a suspicious man in the 400 block of Ridgewood Drive. The man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Case# 19-537.

At 7:26 pm, Officer Parson conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Berrellesa Street. Both the driver and his passenger were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Case# 19-547.

At 8:03 pm, Officer Montano contacted a man at Walmart. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Case# 19-548.

At 10:04 pm, Officer Lucido arrested a man in the 600 block of Walnut Avenue for public intoxication. Case# 19-550.

On February 22nd at 12:21 am, Officer Lucido arrested a man in the parking lot of the John Muir Inn for a warrant. Case# 19-551.

At 2:37 am, Officer Montano conducted traffic stop on Pacheco Boulevard near Arthur Road. The driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license for DUI. Case# 19-552.

At 7:48 am, Officer Sousa saw an occupied suspicious vehicle at the transit hub. He contacted the occupant and discovered he was in possession of a controlled substance. The man was cited and released at the scene.

At 8:53 pm, Corporal Baillie responded to 536 Main St. (La Tapatia) for a report of a trespasser. He contacted the 56-year-old man from Oakland, and he found the man had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. The man was cited and released and then provided transportation to the BART Station. Case# 19-556.

On February 23rd at 4:03 am, Officer Montano contacted a 32-year-old man from Martinez in the 100 block of Morello Avenue. The man, who is on probation, was in possession of .5 grams of methamphetamine. He was arrested for 11377(a) H&S and cite released. Case# 19-558.

At 4:46 am, officers working off of information from Officer Montano, responded to the 800 block of Vine Ave. to serve a felony warrant. They contacted the 34-year-old man from Martinez and arrested him. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 19-559.

At 11:09 am, Officer Sousa made a traffic stop at Vine Avenue and Pacheco Boulevard. He contacted the driver, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man was also in possession of a controlled substance. Officer Sousa arrested the man and booked him into MDF. Case# 19-560.

At 1:56 pm, Acting Lt. Gaul contacted a woman in the 1000 block of Mellus Street. Acting Lt. Gaul found that the man was in possession of a controlled substance. He was cited and released at the scene. Case# 19-561.

At 5:54 pm, officers responded to the 700 block of Shell Avenue for a report of a single vehicle collision. Officers arrived and located the 61-year-old man from Martinez, who was the rider in a single vehicle collision. The man lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the shoulder. Case# 19-565.

At 9:26 pm, Officer Lucido was on patrol when he saw a 25-year-old man from Martinez ‘tagging’ with paint the train bridge in the 100 block of Morello Avenue. The man was also in possession of brass knuckles. He was arrested for 594 PC (Vandalism) and 21810 PC (Possess Knuckle), and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 19- 568.

On February 24th at 2:15 am, officers responded to 709 Ferry St. (Nu Rays Lounge) for a report of an intoxicated man. Officers arrived and arrested the 22-year-old man from Lancaster for 647(f) PC (Public Intoxication). He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Case# 19-570.

At 11:37 pm, officers responded to the area of Muir Road and Vine Hill Way for a robbery that had just occurred. An AT&T repairman was working on an open utility box, when a woman walked up to him and wanted her cell phone repaired. When he explained he couldn’t fix her phone, she became upset. When the repairman stepped over to his work van, the woman started tearing wires out, disrupting the phone service. The repairman ran to the utility box to stop her, and in return the woman jumped in the van attempting to steal it. She was unable to take the vehicle due to the man having his work keys on him; however, she stole the man’s cell phone that was in the vehicle. Corporal Mayberry located the woman and she was arrested for attempting to steal the vehicle (10851 CVC), damaging the power lines (591 PC) and 1203.2 PC (Violating Probation). Case# 19-573.

At 12:05 pm, officers responded to the 3200 block of Alhambra Avenue for a residential burglary. Case# 19-574.

At 2:54 pm, Corporal Mayberry located a stolen vehicle in the parking area of 1020 Arnold Drive (Walmart). The vehicle and two occupants fled from officers resulting in a pursuit which terminated when the vehicle collided with the center divider on Interstate 680. Officers arrested a 26-year-old man and a 36-year-old man. They are both from Concord. They were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 19-576.

At 6:31 pm, Officer Lucido contacted an intoxicated man in the 500 block of Main Street. Officer Lucido arrested the 49-year-old man from Antioch for 647(f) PC (Public Intoxication). He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Case# 19-577.

At 10:10 pm, Officer Montano contacted a 35-year-old man from Redding. The man had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest and was booked into the Martinez Detention Center (MDF) Case# 19-578.

On February 25th at 12:21 am, officers responded to Fountainhead Court for a report of man acting strange in the street. Officers arrived and contacted the 31-year-old man from Martinez. He is on parole was under the influence of methamphetamine and resisted officers at the scene. He was arrested for 11550(a) H&S (Under the Influence), 148 PC

(Resisting Arrest) and 3056 PC (Violate Parole). He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 19-579 by Officer Lucido.

At 2:14 am, Officer Parsons conducted a traffic stop on Alhambra Avenue near Glenview Drive. He contacted the driver, a 36-year-old woman from Walnut Creek, who had a felony warrant for her arrest. She was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 19-580.

At 7:35 am, Officer Voyvodich responded to Safeway (downtown) for an unwanted female refusing to leave. She was arrested for trespassing. Case# 19-581.

At 1:05 pm, Officer Voyvodich responded to the Junior High School for a report of vandalism. An unknown student wrote in the boy’s bathroom an explicit word and “MJHS blow it up.” Case# 19-591.

On February 26th at 2:35 am, Officer Breinig was dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Pine Street for a verbal altercation between two men. Upon arrival one of the men had already left the area. The man and woman at the scene were both arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Case# 19-595.

At 8:28 am, Officer Winslett took an auto burglary report at Starbucks on Center Avenue. The vehicle’s window was smashed and the victim’s purse and clothing bag were taken off the seat. Case# 19-597.

At 9:12 am, Officer Carney took an auto burglary report at Starbucks on Arnold Drive. Like the previous case, the vehicle’s window was smashed and the victim’s purse was stolen off the seat. Case# 19-599.

At 9:42 am, Officer Voyvodich responded to the 1100 block of Walnut Street for an elderly deceased male, who appeared to have passed due to natural causes. Case# 19-600.

At 12:21 pm, Officer Voyvodich responded to a collision at Berrellesa Street and Allen Street. Case# 19-604.

On February 27th at 4:52 am, Officer Breinig took an auto burglary report at the apartment complex at 600 J Street. The victim’s window was smashed and a computer and Xbox were taken. Case# 19-607.

At 8:20 am, Detective Wah located a stolen vehicle occupied by a woman in the 2000 block of Olympic Drive. The woman was arrested. Case# 19-609.

At 12:10 pm, Officer Voyvodich arrested a man at the Marina Market for two counts of petty theft, trespassing and disorderly conduct. Case# 19-612.

At 8:16 pm, Officer Espinoza took a report of a window smash auto burglary at Walmart. Case# 19-616.

On February 28th at 4:31 am, officers searched the area of Pine Street and Arreba Street for a suspicious man on a bicycle carrying another bicycle and a bucket of tools. The subject was not located, and it was determined that the subject had burglarized a residential garage to obtain those items. Case# 19-618.

At 10:28 am, Sergeant Busciglio responded to a residence in the 200 block of Escondido Drive for the report of a deceased elderly male. The investigation suggested the deceased the male was neglected. The deceased adult daughter and her boyfriend, living at the residence, were arrested. Detectives were called out to the scene to take over the investigation. Case# 19-622.
