Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa awarded grant from the Dean and Margaret Lesher Foundation

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa announced they have been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Dean and Margaret Lesher Foundation to make needed renovations to the Martinez Clubhouse kitchen.

“We are proud to have been awarded this generous grant from the Lesher Foundation.” Said Board Chair Angela Rundles. “This kitchen is needed to serve an increasing number of Club kids whose parents struggle to put enough food on the table. We look forward to when we will able to serve all our Club kids a healthy meal and even teach them how to prepare it!”

The Dean and Margaret Lesher Foundation has a clear and simple mission – to enhance the quality of life for the residents of this extraordinary place. Established in 1989, their grants of the Foundation have touched many lives and communities. The mission of the Lesher Foundation is to support their nonprofit partners and join with them to create a better place.

The Lesher Foundation grant is set to be foundational block to improve the Martinez Clubhouse kitchen. Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa are still seeking additional partners to assist with funding to bring the project to completion.
