Junior Lifeguard Training (10-14 years) Junior lifeguard candidates will be introduced to lifesaving skills, injury prevention, good customer skills and basic first aid. Graduates are invited to volunteer at the pool this summer as a Junior Lifeguard. Junior Lifeguards will be assigned to assist with Recreation Swim, Pool Parties, Family Nights and Swim Lessons. Volunteers earn free swim passes for themselves and friends along with Junior Lifeguard gear such as sweatshirts, lanyards, and hats. Dates: Wednesdays, May 8, May 15, May 22 Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm Fee: $37 Martinez Residents/$42 Non-Residents
Lifeguard Certification Class with Title 22 All candidates must be 15 years old before the date of the last class and pass a swimming and pretest to qualify for the class. The swimming pretest will take place the first day of the class. Participants must be able to swim 300 yards without stopping, retrieve a 10lb brick from the bottom of a 10-foot pool. If you fail, the test you will not be allowed to continue the course and will be refunded all but $50. Participants MUST attend all classes/skill trainings and successfully complete three written tests to become certified. There are no make-ups for missed classes. $35 American Red Cross Certification Fee included in fee.

Lifeguard Review Class Participants must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/FirstAid/CPR for Professionals. You MUST bring a CPR mask or purchase a mask at class for $12.
