Resident of Martinez, Calif.

Linda was born on March 1, 1959, in Redding, CA to Robert G. Douthit and Carolyn L (Liddell) Douthit. She went to be with our lord peacefully on September 4, 2019.

She was the first born child, who loved spending time with both grandfathers, gardening, raising Chihuahuas, collecting Avon, victorian antiques and riding her prized Harley.

Cooking and spending time with her maternal grandmother was one of her favorite memories. She loved her precious cat, Oreo, very much and enjoyed time with him.

As a young lady Linda was a girl scout, competition roller skater, musician and loved to ride her horse. Linda graduated from high school when she was 16 and attended Contra Costa College. She had many talents: was a Senior Loan Officer at Discovery Mortgage and Banker’s Financial in Concord, was a chef at Nantucket in Crockett, was the co-owner of The Dog House restaurant in Crockett and owner of Aloha Tan in Martinez.

Linda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Denis and Alma Liddell, uncle Randy Liddell, of Redding, paternal grandparents Asa E. Douthit of Redding and Gladys Louise Severns of Eugene, Ore.

She is survived by her mother Carolyn (Liddell) Hill of Martinez, father Robert Douthit of Anderson, and her five siblings: Patricia (Douthit) Van Wert of Martinez, Russell Douthit of Antioch, Clifford Douthit of Hyrum, UT, Carol (Douthit) Akre of Martinez, and Shannon (Hill) Caston of Fairfield, many nieces, nephews and her beloved cat “Oreo:

Interment will be in Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding near her beloved grandfather on Tuesday September 17th at 12:30 PM.

The family wishes to offer sincere appreciation to Hospice of the East Bay for their compassionate care and guidance. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Linda’s honor to Hospice of the East Bay, the Boys and Girls Club of Martinez or the Martinez Junior High School music department.
