Martinez Police Blotter for Aug. 1-15, 2019

• On August 1st at 8:10 am, MPD dispatch received a call from a blocked number. The male voice reported a bomb at the court house. The Sheriff’s Office received a similar call; believing it to be the same man. The courthouse was evacuated by sheriff’s deputies. Incident# 1908010007.

• At 11:40 am, Officer Weems investigated an embezzlement at the Verizon Store where an employee was accessing accounts and allowing friends to open lines on the accounts. Case# 19-2038.

• At 2:01 pm, Officer Lincoln stopped a vehicle on Muir Road at Elderwood Drive for displaying registration tabs. The male driver was arrested for the false tabs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Case# 19-2041.

• At 2:09 pm, Officer Weems responded to a collision in the 900 block of Arnold Drive. Case# 19-2042.

• At 6:51 pm, Officer Breinig recovered an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Carquinez Scenic Drive. Case# 19- 2045.

• At 7:05 pm, Officer Lincoln responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Center Avenue for the theft of a package from off the porch. The home owner provided video surveillance of the incident and a possible identification of the suspect was made. Case# 19-2044.

• On August 2nd at 8:00 am, Officer Miller took reports on three vehicles that had their windows smashed. Items were stolen from two of the vehicles. Case# 19-2046.

• At 10:20 am, Officer Angoco took a window smash burglary report of a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of J Street. Case# 19-2047.

• At 1:30 pm, Officer Miller took a stolen vehicle report from a resident in the 900 block of Arlington Way. Case# 19-2053.

• At 3:00 pm, Corporal Baillie recovered a stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of Rolling Hill Way. Case# 19-2054.

• At 3:45 pm, Officer Buda investigated a deceased man at a residence in the 4900 block of Tahoe Circle. Case# 19-2055.

• At 10:30 pm, Officer Montano arrested a man in the 100 block of Gardenia Court for public intoxication. Case# 19-2057.

• On August 3rd at 3:00 pm, Officer Angoco arrested a man for public intoxication outside of Safeway (downtown). Case# 19-2061.

• At 4:00 pm, Officer Parsons responded to the 3800 block of Canyon Way for people in a vehicle acting suspicious. A male occupant was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and heroin. Case# 19-2062.

• At 4:00 pm, officers assisted the Sheriff’s Department in setting a perimeter for a vehicle that was pursued through Martinez and terminated in the county area, where the suspect was apprehended.

• At 9:13 pm, Officer Parsons took a stolen vehicle report from an apartment complex in the 3900 block of Alhambra Avenue. Case# 19-2063.

• At 9:10 am, Corporal Baillie took a theft report from a resident in the 900 block of Thompson Street. Taken was a washing machine, dryer and desk. Case# 19-2066.

• On August 4th at 10:00 am, Sergeant Gaul arrested a man at the skate park parking lot for possession of methamphetamine. Case# 19-2067.

• At 12:00 pm, Officer Buda arrested a man for a restraining order violation at a residence on Fountain Head Court. Case# 19-2069.

• At 4:45 pm, Officer Parsons arrested a man behind the City Corporation Yard for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Case# 19-2070.

• At 7:28 pm, Corporal Mayberry conducted a traffic stop at Huntington Court and Ward Street. The male driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Case# 19-2071.

• On August 5th at 2:00 am, Officer Parsons arrested a man in the skate park parking lot for a warrant. Case# 19-2073.

• At 2:11 am, Sergeant Salamid arrested a man at Amtrak for a warrant. Case# 19- 2074.

• At 2:33 am, Corporal Mayberry arrested a man for a warrant on Alhambra Avenue, near E Street. Case# 19-2075.

• At 12:46 pm, a man came to MPD to report a robbery that occurred last night. The man stated he was in the 200 block of Berrellesa Street when three men approached him from behind, beat him up and took his cell phone and headphones. Case# 19-2083.

• On August 6th at 12:40 am, Officer Espinoza, along with other officers responded to a solo vehicle roll over collision in the 2500 block of Alhambra Avenue. Case# 19-2087.

• At 11:49 am, Officer Weems took a burglary report at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Arnold Drive where the laundry rooms were broken into and all the change was pried from the laundry machines. Case# 19-2092.

• At 1:20 pm, Officer Weems took a burglary report at residence in the 1000 block of Ferry Street where tools were taken from a shed. Case# 19-2094

• At 1:55 pm, Officer Weems took a vandalism report of slashed tires and cut oil lines on a vehicle in the 2800 block of Terrace Way. Case# 19-2095

• At 3:11 pm, Officer Miller responded to Starbucks (downtown) for a man asking for a knife and acting erratic. The man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and under the influence of a controlled substance. Case# 19-2096

• At 8:00 pm, Officer Ramos took a stolen vehicle report from a resident in the 2400 block of 2429 Saybrook Place. The incident was captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera. Case# 19-2101.

• On August 7th at 5:31 am, Officer Winslett took a vehicle burglary report from a resident in the 2300 block of Minaret Drive. Approximately $5,000 in tools were taken from the truck’s lockbox. Case# 19-2102.

• At 9:39 am, Officer Weems arrested a man for a warrant at the Bocce Ball Courts. Case # 19-2104.

• At 11:08 am, Corporal Schnabel took an identity theft report from a resident in the 700 block of Center Avenue. The victim’s social security benefits address was changed and a Patelco Credit Union card was opened. Case# 19-2107

• At 1:25 pm, Officer Weems responded to a complex in the 3400 block of Sentinel Drive for the theft of a coin box from the laundry room. Case# 19-2108.

• At 10:12 pm, Officer Espinoza arrested a man for DUI after he collided with two parked vehicles in the 700 block of Shell Avenue and fled the scene. Case# 19- 2115.

• On August 8th at 2:00 pm, Officer Angoco arrested a man at the old Amtrak station for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Case# 19-2116.

• At 3:15 pm, Corporal Mayberry arrested a man on Alhambra Avenue, near Main Street for public intoxication and a warrant. Case# 19-2117.

• At 3:00 pm, Officer Wah responded to Walmart for an employee theft. The man suspect was arrested for embezzlement. Case# 19-2118.

• At 8:41 pm, Corporal Mayberry arrested a man for driving on a suspended license on North Court Street. Case# 19-2121.

• At 9:42 pm, Corporal Mayberry and Sgt. Muncher attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on SR 4 at I680. The vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed. Star 3 helicopter followed the vehicle into Lafayette. The vehicle turned onto a one-way street and the male driver surrendered without incident. He was arrested for evading, possession of stolen property and probation violation. Case# 19-2124.

• At 11:42 pm, Sergeant Salamid arrested a man in the 600 block of Pine Street for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools. Case# 19- 2126.

• On August 9th at 9:25 pm, Corporal Mayberry attempted to stop a motorcycle. The motorcycle matched the description of a stolen street bike which had fled from him a week prior. The rider failed to stop and a pursuit ensued onto northbound 680, where Corporal Mayberry discontinued the pursuit. Case# 19-2136.

• On August 10th at 4:30 pm, Officer Angoco responded to an alarm at a residence in the 400 block of Gilger Avenue. Neighbors indicated the alarm was activated from inside, where Officer Angoco located a deceased male. Case#19-2138.

• At 10:40 am, Officer Angoco stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Arnold Drive. The male passenger was arrested for a warrant. Case# 19-180.

• On August 11th at 3:20 pm, there was an LPR stolen vehicle alert on eastbound HWY 4. Officer Parsons located the vehicle near the Pine Street exit. A high risk stop was conducted without incident and a female was taken into custody for possession of stolen property and warrants. Case# 19-2146.

• At 10:57 pm, Corporal Mayberry responded to a robbery at Marina Market. The male suspect stated he had a firearm and he demanded money. The man fled with approximately $1,000. The investigation is continuing. Case# 19-2147.

• On August 12th at 2:40 am, Officer Montano responded to the area of St. Nazaire Court and Toulouse Way for a man on an electric scooter breaking into mailboxes. The male fled prior to police arrival. Case# 19-2148.

• At 3:20 am, Officer Montano arrested a male for public intoxication after he was ringing the doorbell of what he thought was a friend’s house in the 900 block of Meadowvale Court. Case# 19-2150.

• At 4:41 am, officers responded to Walmart, where a dog was trapped and bleeding because its tail was wedged in a tire jack under the seat in a truck. Officers disassembled the tire jack, freeing the dog. Inc. # 1908120011.

• At 7:20 am, Officer Weems located a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Howe Road. The vehicle was associated with a residence around the corner on Santa Fe Street. CHP was contacted. Officer Weems assisted CHP in serving a search warrant at the residence. Case# 19-2151.

• At 8:58 am, Officer Winslett took a vehicle burglary report from a resident in the 300 block of Mill Road. No loss was reported. Case# 19-2152.

• At 9:46 pm, Officer Breinig responded to a collision involving a parked car on Tarantino Drive. The male driver was arrested for DUI. Case # 19-2161.

• On August 13th at 6:53 am, Corporal Schnabel contacted a man kicking the ATM machine at Chase Bank on Arnold Drive. He was arrested for being under the influence of methamphetamine. Case# 19-2163.

• At 7:22 am, Officer Winslett took an auto burglary report from a resident in the 2000 block of Cromart Court, tools were taken. Case# 19-2164.

• At 10:16 am, Officer Wah arrested a man at Amtrak for a warrant. Case # 19-2165.

• At 10:01 pm, Officer Weems arrested a man for a warrant while checking the encampments in the 3800 block of Vista Way. Case# 19-2166.

• At 12:30 pm, Officer Weems arrested a man at Amtrak for drinking in public (muni code violation). Case# 19-2167.

• At 1:28 pm, Officer Weems forced entry into a residence in the 2200 block of Hidden Lakes Court for an elderly man who was not responding to his wife who was trying to get in the house. The man was sleeping. Case# 19-2168.

• At 5:29 pm, Officer Weems located an unoccupied stolen vehicle to the rear of the County Recorder’s Office. Case# 19-2170.

• At 5:30 pm, Officer Lincoln took a stolen vehicle report from Fit Republic. The victim’s gym bag, with her keys in it, were stolen while she worked out. An unknown female was seen leaving in the stolen vehicle. Case# 19-2171.

• On August 14th at 1:59 am, Officer Breinig arrested a man for trespassing in the 500 block of Talbart Street. Case# 19-2173.

• At 10:39 am, Officer Weems arrested a man at Rankin Park for possession of heroin. Case # 19-2176.

• At 11:26 am, Officer Buda took a burglary report from Public Storage on Arnold Drive. A storage unit was pried open and items were stolen. Case# 19-2178.

• At 1:54 pm, Officer Weems arrested a man for a warrant at Starbucks (downtown). Case# 19-2179.

• At 2:14 pm, Detectives Williamson and Lekse arrested a man for a warrant at Cinco De Mayo on Pacheco Boulevard. Case# 19-2180.

• At 8:08 pm, Officer Lincoln arrested an employee at Home Depot for theft from the store. Case# 19-2182.

• On August 15th at 1:09 am, Officer Breinig arrested a man for public intoxication at 7 Flags Car Wash. Case# 19-2184.

• At 8:04 am, Corporal Schnabel took an auto burglary report at the John Muir Inn. Case# 19-2186.

• At 9:48 pm, Officer Lincoln was dispatched to the rear of a business in the 200 block of Glacier Drive for a bus fire. ConFire responded to extinguish the mobile health care unit that was burning. Inc # 1908150081.
