Martinez Police blotter for Nov. 16-30, 2018

On November 16th at 1:01 am, Officer Angoco arrested a man who was in the middle of the roadway at Pacheco Boulevard and Howe Road for being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer. Case# 18-2748.

At 6:51 am officers responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of Arreba Street. Confire handled the call. Incident #1811160018.

Corporal Baillie took a window smash auto burglary that occurred sometime overnight on Glacier in front of the elementary school near the park. Case# 18-2749.

Officer Ramos took a door kick residential burglary in the 700 block of Shell Avenue. Case# 18-2752.

At 7:34 pm the MPD Detective Bureau served a search warrant in the 300 block of Embarcadero. They seized .5 lbs. of Methamphetamine and arrested three people for possession of Methamphetamine for sales. They were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 18-2753 by Detective Lekse.

At 9:08 pm Officer Parsons contacted a 39-year-old man from Concord in the lobby of the Amtrak Station. The man was in possession of .25 grams of Methamphetamine. He was arrested, cited and released. Case# 18-2754 by Officer Parsons.

At 9:59 pm Corporal Mayberry contacted a highly intoxicated man in the area of Escobar Street and Estudillo Street. The 25-year-old man from Concord was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF) for 647(f) (Public Intoxication). Case# 18-2755 by Corporal Mayberry.

On November 17th at 1:40 am, Officer Parsons conducted a traffic stop on Bush Street near Walnut. He contacted the driver, a 20-year-old man from Martinez, who was driving with a suspended license for a prior DUI. He was cited and released for 14602.2a CVC (Driving While Suspended for DUI). Case# 18-2757 by Officer Parsons.

At 1:56 am Officer Voyvodich conducted a traffic stop in the area of Alhambra Avenue and D Street. He contacted the driver, a 55-year-old woman from Pleasant Hill, who was highly intoxicated. She was arrested for 23152 a/b CVC (Driving While Intoxicated) and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 18-2758 by Officer Voyvodich.

Sergeant Salamid was on patrol when he contacted a man sleeping in his vehicle in the parking area of 1190 Arnold Drive (IHOP). The 55-year-old from Spokane WA had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He was cited and released at the scene. Case# 18- 2759 was taken by Sergeant Salamid.

At 4:28 pm Officer Leong and Officer Ramos were dispatched to the area of Pine Street and Sentinel for a woman in a silver Nissan Sentra that was driving while huffing. They located the car and contacted the driver. She refused to get out of the car and continued

to huff. The driver fled and pulled into Tower Mart where officers were able to block her in. They were able to remove the woman from the car and arrested her for driving under the influence. Case# 18-2761.

On November 17th at 7:21 pm, Officer Angoco conducted a vehicle stop in the parking area of 600 Morello Avenue (Hidden Lakes Park). He contacted the driver, a 43-year-old man from Concord, who is on active probation. The man was in possession of 2.0 grams of Methamphetamine. He was arrested for 11377(a) H&S (Possession of a Controlled Substance) and cite released at the scene. Case# 18-2762 by Officer Angoco.

On November 18th at 12:11 am, Officer Parson conducted a traffic stop on SR4 at Morello Avenue. He contacted the driver, a 42-year-old man from Martinez. The man is on probation and was in possession of 1.0 grams of Methamphetamine. He was arrested for 11377(a) H&S (Possession of a Controlled Substance) and cite released at the scene. Case# 18-2764 by Officer Parsons.

At 3:39 am Sergeant Salamid conducted a traffic stop on Howe Road near Pine Street. He contacted a man who is on probation and was in possession of .3 grams of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested for 11377(a) H&S (Possession of a Controlled Substance) and 11364 H&S (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) and cite released at the scene. Case# 18-2766 by Sergeant Salamid.

On November 19th at 8:30 am, Officer Winslett took a vehicle burglary report from a resident in the 1400 block of Center Avenue. Case# 18-2768.

At 9:37 am Officer Carney took a grand theft and brandishing report that occurred at NorCal Sports. The reporting party said two men demanded he turn over his vehicle; one of the men brandished a firearm. The reporting party knew one of them, as the reporting party owes him money. Case# 18-2769.

At 12:49 pm Officer Winslett took a vehicle burglary report from a resident in the 200 block of Wildflower Drive. The victim’s purse was taken from the vehicle. Case# 18- 2773.

At 1:29 pm Officer Sousa took a stolen trailer report from a business in the 4600 block of Pacheco Boulevard. Inside the trailer were generators and a paint sprayer. Case# 18- 2774.

On November 20th at 10:14 am, Officer Carney was at Alhambra Avenue and D Street when he saw a man on a bicycle. Officer Carney knew the man had a warrant, so contact was made and the man was arrested. While making this arrest, Officer Carney saw another man on a bicycle who had a warrant. That man was contacted and arrested, too. Case# 18-2780.

At 11:04 am Detective Miller took a vandalism case at the high school, as unknown subject(s) painted on some of the walls. Case# 18-2781.

At 9:42 pm Officer Ramos assisted Pleasant Hill PD with a hit-n-run traffic collision. Case# 18- 2790.

On November 21st at 6:33 am, Officer Souza responded to an unconscious male on the floor of his residence in the 2000 of block of Estudillo Street. There were no signs of foul play. Case# 18-2792.

At 8:56 am Officer Sousa took a restraining order violation report from a resident in the 2800 block of Parkway Drive. Case# 18-2794.

At 12:49 pm Officer Sousa took a missing person report from the Hope House. Case# 18-2797.

At 2:38 pm Officer Sousa recovered an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the 900 block of Howe Road. Case# 18-2798.

At 3:21 pm Officer Carney responded to Nob Hill for a woman who attempted to pass a fraudulent $100 bill. The woman fled prior to police arrival. Case# 18-2799.

At 11:29 pm Officer Lincoln arrested the driver of a solo vehicle collision for DUI. The collision occurred at Alhambra Avenue and Blue Ridge Drive. Case# 18-2800.

On November 22nd at 4:41 am, officers responded to the report of an unresponsive man on Robinson Street. Unfortunately, first responders were unsuccessful in reviving him. Case# 18-2801.

At 8:18 am Officer Sousa arrested a man at Amtrak who was violating municipal smoking codes and trespassing. The man also had a warrant for his arrest and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Case# 18-2802.

At 1:05 pm Officer Sousa investigated a residential burglary in the 500 block of Palm Avenue. Case# 18-2804.

At 11:41 pm Officer Lincoln responded to the 1200 block of Ulfinian Way for a man that was out of control and breaking things in the house. He contacted the man in the front yard of the residence. The man was extremely intoxicated and he was arrested for public intoxication. He was booked into MDF. Case# 18- 2806.

On November 23rd at 8:08 am, Officer Lekse conducted a probation search at Motel 6 in Walnut Creek. He arrested a man and woman on drug related charges. Case# 18-2808.

At 10:12 pm Corporal Mayberry was on patrol in the area of Old Orchard Road and Arnold Drive when he saw a reckless driver lose control of his vehicle. While attempting to stop the vehicle the passenger jumped out of the car and ran. The driver was detained, however, the passenger who fled was not located. The driver, a 34-year-old from Fairfield, was in possession of almost 1 lb. of Marijuana packaged for sale. He was arrested for 23103 CVC (Reckless Driving) and 11359 H&S (Possession of Marijuana for sale). He was booked at the Martinez Police Department and later released. Case# 18- 2813.

On November 24, 2018 at 4:44 am, Corporal Mayberry conducted a traffic stop on Martha Drive at Sodaro Street. He contacted the driver, a 41-year-old woman from Martinez, who had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 18-2814.

At 9:30 am one of the LPR cameras captured a stolen 2013 Toyota Tacoma in the City. Sergeant Gaul located the vehicle parked unoccupied at the intersection of Oak Street and Bella Vista. No suspects returned to the car and it was recovered. (The vehicle was reported stolen to Concord PD the prior day.) Case# 18-2815.

At 1:00 pm Amtrak reported a suspicious person inside the station. Officers contacted a 29-year-old transient. The person is prohibited from Amtrak and was arrested for trespassing. He was booked into MDF by Officer Leong. Case# 18-2818.

At 7:25 pm Officer Angoco contacted a 32-year-old man from Martinez who is on probation. The man was in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for 11377(a) H&S (Possession of Controlled Substance) and 11364 H&S (Possession of Paraphernalia) and cite released at the scene. Case# 18-2819.

At 8:12 pm Corporal Mayberry was on patrol and contacted two subjects on Escobar Street. He found both of them are on probation and both were highly intoxicated. They were both arrested for 647(f) PC (Public Intoxication) and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case# 18-2820.

At 9:24 pm Sergeant Salamid was on patrol and contacted a 45-year-old man from Martinez in the parking area of 3550 Pacheco Boulevard. The man, who is on probation, was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released for 11364 H&S (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia). Case# 18-2821.

At 10:23 pm Corporal Mayberry was on patrol and contacted two subjects parked in the parking area of Rankin Park. One of the subjects, an 18-year-old man from Martinez, was in possession of .5 lbs. of Marijuana and items associated with Marijuana Sales. He was arrested for 11359 H&S and booked and released at MPD. Case# 18-2822.

On November 25, 2018 at 2:31 am, Corporal Mayberry conducted a traffic stop at SR4 at Pacheco Boulevard. He contacted the driver, a 60-year-old man from Antioch, who was driving with a suspended license for a prior DUI. He was cited and released for 14601.2(a) CVC. Case# 18-2823.

At 3:04 pm Corporal Baillie responded to 1021 Arnold Drive for an auto burglary. The caller reported that her purse was taken from the trunk of the car. Case# 18-2827.

At 4:15 pm Dispatch advised of a LPR (license plate reader) hit. It was a white Honda Civic taken in a 215 PC (carjacking) out of Oakland. Officer Leong and Officer Buda spotted the car N/B at John Muir Road. Officer Leong attempted to stop the car and the driver fled. MPD units pursued the car W/B Hwy 4 into Hercules. The car fled back onto E/B Hwy 4 after hitting a curb just prior to entering the freeway. The car came to a stop at Hwy 4 and Franklin Canyon and three subjects were taken into custody. Case# 18- 2829.

At 10:05 pm Sergeant Salamid was on foot patrol in the area of the Amtrak Train Station when he contacted a 54-year-old man from Orange, CA. The man had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for a weapons charge. He was cited and released at the scene and provided a transport to the Concord Homeless Shelter. Case# 18-2830.

On November 26th at 7:10 am, Detective Wah contacted a man in front of Rite Aid. The man was in possession of a stolen laptop, which he claimed to have purchased at the Concord Swap Meet. Case# 18-2831.

At 8:20 am Officer Carney responded to Amtrak for a vehicle burglary, where the vehicle’s window was smashed and loose change was taken. Case# 18-2832.

At 11:17 am Officer Sousa obtained an LPR hit on stolen vehicle in the 700 block of Parkway Drive. The vehicle was located unoccupied. Case# 18-2834.

At 3:10 pm Officer Sousa responded to a disturbance at the DA’s office. A man there claimed to have been assaulted in August. He provided a written statement of the incident and a report was taken. Case# 18-2839.

At 4:46 pm Officer Winslett took a theft report at a residence in the 1500 block of Cherrywood Drive. Case# 18-2841.

At 7:32 pm Corporal Schnabel took a burglary report at the John Muir Inn, where the victim was staying. The automatic door lock did not engage when the victim left their room and unknown suspect(s) entered the room and took the victim’s luggage. Case# 18-2843.

On November 27th at 9:14 am, Officer Sousa arrested a man at a residence in the 2300 block of Harbor View Drive for a warrant. Case# 18-2844.

At 3:13 pm Officer Carney took a fraud report from a resident on Banner Court. who was deceived into transferring $20,000 to an unknown party, via phone and internet. Case# 18-2849.

At 7:07 pm Officer Lincoln took a burglary report at a church on Morello Avenue. The loss was a laptop, tools and a check book. Case# 18-2852.

On November 28th at 10:57 am, Officer Sousa responded to a hit and run in the 500 block of Arch Street. A resident in the area observed an unknown person drive into his neighbor’s fence. The driver of the vehicle then walked away. Case# 18-2856.

At 1:28 pm Officer Sousa assisted Animal Services with a loose dog incident. The loose dog attacked another dog, that was on leash. The loose dog bit other residents in the area when they assisted. The owner of the dog on leash took her dog to the vet prior to police arrival. There appeared to be no life threatening injuries to any involved parties. Case# 18-2858.

At 3:57 pm Officer Carney responded to a residence in the 400 block of Fig Tree Lane for a disturbance. A woman was arrested for a warrant. Case# 18-2860.

On November 29th at 12:28 am, Officer Lincoln arrested a man on Morello Heights Drive for public intoxication. The man had been banging on the door of a residence in the area. Case# 18-2862.

At 12:21 am Officer Ramos responded to a collision on Morello Avenue at Arnold Drive. One of the involved parties, a male driver, was arrested for DUI. Case# 18-2863.

At 7:50 pm Corporal Mayberry made a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Pacheco Boulevard. The driver was arrested for possession of heroin. Case# 18-2867.

On November 30th at 12:34 am, Corporal Mayberry contacted a man sleeping in his vehicle at Mt. View Park. The man was arrested for a warrant. Case# 18-2868.

On November 30th Detective Miller conducted a vehicle search. He located marijuana and 16 cartridges of CBD oil. The person was cited. Case# 18-2869.

At 5:19 pm Officer Parsons responded to Walgreens for a transient banging on cars in the area. The subject was arrested for PC 415 and booked into MDF.

At 7:50 pm Officer Parsons contacted three subjects parked in a car at the corner of Alhambra Way and Muir Station Road. One of the subjects was on probation and refused to submit to a probation search. He had to be removed from the vehicle and was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. He was arrested for 11377 H&S (Possess Controlled Substance), 148(a) PC (Resist Peace Officer) and a 1203.2 PC (Probation Violation) and booked into the Martinez detention Facility (MDF). At 7:53 pm Officer Angoco responded to the lobby of the Contra Costa Juvenile Hall for an adult female who had a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF). Case # 18-2871.
