MPD K9 apprehend San Bruno mall shooter suspect

Two additional suspects involved with the shooting that took place at the Tanforan Mall July 2, 2019, have been arrested.

MPD officers & K9 Brut were very busy Thursday morning.

Officers were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle & once the vehicle became disabled three of the five occupants fled on foot.

Ofc. Breinig and K9 Brut gave chase & Brut apprehended all three, which included the homicide suspect from San Bruno.

18-year-old San Francisco resident Deandre Lejon Gantt, was arrested by the Martinez Police Department at approximately 1:23 a.m. July 18 for possession of a stolen vehicle and pursuant to the arrest warrant related to the incident at the Tanforan Shopping Center. He was taken into custody after a short vehicle pursuit followed by a foot chase. Mr. Gantt was booked to the San Mateo County Jail on charges related to attempted murder and conspiracy.

An additional suspect, a fourteen year old male resident of San Francisco, who had acted in concert with one of the involved shooters was also taken into custody regarding this case. This subject was taken into custody today with the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department and booked at the San Mateo County Youth Services Center for charges related to attempted murder and conspiracy.
