(Press Release) East Bay Regional Park District Director Colin Coffey, who was appointed to the Board in February 2017, announced his candidacy for election this November. “I love our East Bay Parks,” said Coffey. “I am passionate about improving access to parklands and trails and continuing to enhance everyone’s Parks experience.”
Coffey and his family have been life-long Parks and trails enthusiasts and have served as Park District Ambassadors. Prior to his appointment to the East Bay Regional Park District, Coffey served for thirteen years on the East Bay Regional Park District Advisory Committee, a citizens advisory group that studies issues and makes recommendations to the Board on Parks policy.
“I want to continue my work on the Board to preserve open space and develop new parks and trails,” said Coffey. “I will also work to expand and enhance family campground facilities, outreach to and improve access to under-represented groups, and grow interpretive and educational programs.”
Coffey is endorsed by Congressmembers Jerry McNerney, Mike Thompson and Mark DeSaulnier and retired Congressman George Miller and County Supervisors Diane Burgis and Federal Glover. Today, Coffey received the endorsement of the Sierra Club.
