District 5 Supervisor Federal Glover and Contra Costa County released a map Thursday afternoon from PG&E that shows the areas of Contra Costa County that potentially could experience a shutoff on Saturday evening. Please keep in mind this is a preliminary map.
PG&E says another round of deliberate blackouts is likely to begin Saturday night with gusty weather expected to pick up again. This wind event is expected to be more severe than the weather overnight Wednesday, and the shut-off area in the Bay Area could be larger than the range in this week’s outage. Customers in portions of Contra Costa and Alameda counties may see the lights go out.
Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia shared on Twitter: “PG&E is planning a power outage throughout Contra Costa starting this Saturday at 10 pm through Monday at 2 pm due to strong winds and dry conditions. Here’s the map showing potential outage areas. More to follow.”
(The information in this map is intended only to provide customers with a general estimate regarding potential locations that may be impacted by a PSPS event should one become necessary. Conditions affecting a possible PSPS event can change quickly and the actual impact of a future PSPS event is uncertain.)
