The Martinez Recreation Department is expanding its Holiday Frolic to two days, and is seeking volunteers to make the event a success, Recreation Supervisor Patty Lorick said.
The Light Parade, hair painting, face and fingernail painting will be Friday, Nov. 30, she said. The next day Saturday, Nov. 1, the downtown area will be the scene of a series of holiday-themed activities as well as a sports center and giant games on Estudillo Street.
“The city is looking for volunteers to work (during) both days assisting with crafts and games, painting fingernails, helping with the sports, center, acting as animated characters and more,” Lorick said.
Those interested in volunteering may call the Martinez Recreation Office, 925-372-3510.
In addition, Lorick is welcoming groups, organizations, clubs, churches and others to participate in the annual Light Parade.
She said vehicles must be lit for the parade.
“A limited number of light wands are available to children walking in the parade,” she said.
Those who want to participate in the parade or who want to register for a light wand may cll the Martinez Recreation Office at 925-372-3510 as well.
