The 104th anniversary of the death of famed environmentalist John Muir will be marked Monday, Dec. 24, at the John Muir National Historic Site.
Visitors gathering at the historic site’s visitor center will be provided rides to the Muir family gravesite, where park rangers will present a short remembrance program and allow visitors time for reflection.
Reservations are required and may be place with the John Muir National Historic Site at 925-228-8860 extension 0. Those attending are being asked to dress for weather and for walking on uneven ground. If rain is heavy, the program will take place in the John Muir House.
The remembrance will start at 10 a.m. Monday. The John Muir National Historic Site is at 4202 Alhambra Ave. The site is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week and admission and general parking are free.
