MARTINEZ, Calif. – A Martinez man is in custody after Martinez Police responded to a report Tuesday afternoon that one person was shooting at another during their argument in the 600 block of Warren Street.
According to information provided by Martinez Police, the call came in about 4:50 p.m. Officers received a description of the suspected shooter, and were told the person had left on foot toward Susana Street Park.
After they arrived at the park, officers found a man fitting the description of the suspected shooter, and they placed the man under arrest without incident.
Officers also found a revolver handgun on the ground near where the first officer on the scene spotted the man in the park.
The man, identified as Javier Ramirez, 23, was booked into the Contra Costa County Jail, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. In addition, the man was the subject of a warrant that had been issued for his arrest.
