Martinez police blotter for April 16 – 30, 2018

On April 16th at 11:05 pm, Corporal Schnabel recovered a stolen vehicle from Hidden Lakes Park. It was a 2012 gray Hyundai that was stolen from Antioch. Case# 18-888.

On April 17th at 10:00 am, Officer Winslett responded to a residence in the 100 block of Fig Tree Lane for the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim’s 1992 Honda Accord was taken sometime after midnight. Case# 18-892.

On April 17th at 3:30 pm, Corporal Mayberry responded to Safeway (6688 Alhambra Avenue) for a shoplifter in custody. The suspect was arrested. Case# 18-895.

On April 18th at 6:30 am, Officer Winslett responded to an auto burglary at the John Muir Inn. It occurred between 6:00 pm the prior night to the time of call. Power tools were taken from the vehicle. Case# 18-899.

On April 18th at 2:15 pm officers were dispatched to Marina Market for the report of a man threatening to kill the cashier. The suspect was identified, and he was located driving from the scene but failed to yield for several blocks. He did not stop until he arrived at his residence. He was arrested for threats and evading. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility by Corporal Mayberry. During the contact, an officer had an unintentional discharge of his firearm. The case is under investigation. Case# 18-902.

On April 19th at 6:12 pm, officers responded to 7-Eleven on Morello Avenue for a report of a robbery. An unknown suspect, wearing a mask, threw the cash register on the floor in attempt to open it. The store clerk ran over to the suspect, at which time the suspect struck the clerk on the head with a handgun before fleeing. An extensive area check was conducted, with negative results. Case# 18-913.

On April 19th at 3:30 am, Pittsburg PD requested a K9 assist for a suspect who fled from a stolen vehicle. Officer Breinig and his K9 partner Brut responded to assist. Incident # 1804200005.

On April 20th at 5:49 pm, Officer Brinser arrested a man and woman at Wendy’s for public intoxication. Case# 18-918.

On April 21st at 12:55 am, Sergeant Busciglio arrested a man for DUI in the area of Center Avenue at Glacier Drive. Case# 18-922.

On April 21st at 10:40 am, Sergeant Salamid took a stolen vehicle report from a resident in the 300 block of Ward Street. The vehicle is a red 1996 Honda Accord license/ 8BEN247. Case# 18-925.

On April 21st at 4:13 pm, Officer Vasquez arrested a woman at Marina Market for public intoxication. Case# 18-927.

On April 22nd at 12:41 am, Corporal Mayberry arrested a man in the 400 block of Ferry Street for possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and violating felony probation. Case# 18-931.

On April 22nd at 8:22 am, Officer Lincoln arrested a man for theft and public intoxication at Safeway (downtown). Case# 18-933.

On April 22nd at 10:08 am, Officer Leong took a stolen vehicle report from a resident in the 300 block of Soto Street. Case# 18-936.

On April 23rd at 7:00 am, Officer Voyvodich located an unoccupied stolen vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Vine Street.

On April 23rd at 7:45 am, Corporal Mayberry arrested a woman at Pine Street and Sentinel Drive for displaying a fraudulent registration. Case# 18-943.

On April 23rd at 8:00 am, detectives conducted a probation search at a residence in the 5600 block of Alhambra Hills Court. The man on probation was arrested for being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of stolen property and violating probation. A gun safe containing numerous firearms was also located at the residence. Case# 18-944.

On April 23rd at 1:30 pm, Sergeant Gaul stopped a vehicle in the 2000 block of Rainier Drive. The passenger was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Case# 18-946.

On April 23rd at 2:00 pm, Corporal Mayberry arrested a man at Starbucks (downtown) for assault. The man had been yelling at a group of girls, throwing chairs and spitting. Case# 18-947.

On April 23rd at 4:15 pm, Officer Lincoln arrested a man in the 5200 block of Pacheco Boulevard for displaying a fraudulent registration. Case# 18-949.

On April 23rd at 7:43 pm, Officer Breinig arrested a woman at Alhambra Avenue and C Street for public intoxication. Case# 18-951.

On April 24th at 9:00 am, Detective Lekse assembled detectives and patrol and they conducted a probation search at a residence on Mackie Drive. They contacted the man on probation, who was arrested for possession of controlled substance for sales and violating probation. They also arrested a woman who had a warrant. Case# 18-953.

On April 24th at 5:00 pm, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Warren Street for a shooting. The male suspect fled after firing one shot, but was located several blocks away. The firearm was also recovered. The suspect was arrested for assault with a firearm and a warrant. No one was injured. Case# 18-957.

On April 24th at 6:31 pm, Officer Montano responded to Walmart to identify a theft suspect. The suspect was arrested for a warrant. Case# 18-958.

On April 25th at 5:50 am, Officer Montano took a stolen vehicle report from a resident in the 1200 block of Arnold Drive. Case# 18-959.

On April 25th at 10:30 am, Officer Carney arrested a man at the Transit Hub for possession of heroin and violating probation. Case# 18-963.

On April 25th at 5:00 pm, Officer Winslett arrested a woman at a residence in the 1000 block of Maywood Lane for a warrant. Case# 18-966.

On April 26th at 12:00 pm, Officer Carney responded to an auto burglary in the 1100 block of Arnold Drive, where tools and paperwork were taken from the trunk of the vehicle. Case# 18-970.

On April 26th at 12:50 pm, Officer Voyvodich responded to an alarm at a residence in the 600 block of Palm Avenue, where a window to the rear of the residence had been shattered. The residence was entered by the unknown suspect(s) and jewelry and credit cards were taken. Case# 18-973.

On April 27th at 7:17 am, MPD officers responded to the report of a burglary in progress. The reporting party called 911 stating she confronted a man who entered her house through a window. The man fled the area on foot prior to the arrival of officers, and he took the victim’s purse with him. While conducting an area search, Sergeant Salamid contacted a man from Stockton in the area of Estudillo Street and Shell Avenue. The man was found to be in the possession of the victim’s identification and credit cards. He was arrested and later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility (MDF) for 460(b) PC (Burglary). Case# 18-974 was taken by Officer Voyvodich.

On April 27th at 9:52 pm, officers responded to the front of Nob Hill Foods for a report of a man smoking a methamphetamine pipe. Upon arrival, Officers Montano and Vasquez contacted the man and found he had numerous warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into MDF. Case# 18-985.

On April 28th at 1:48 pm, Officer Leong and Officer Breinig responded to 600 F Street (Martinez Adult School) for a report of an alarm being activated. Upon arrival, they located a transient hiding in some bushes near a building with an alarm activated. A window was found ajar and a bag of property belonging to him was near the window. The man is on parole for burglary and had no business on the property. He was arrested and booked into MDF for attempted burglary and the parole violation. Case# 18-986.

On April 28th at 3:13 am, officers responded to a head on collision with air bags deployed on Howe Road at Parkway Drive. Both vehicles sustained major damage. One of the drivers was intoxicated. She was arrested for DUI and later booked at MDF. She is also on probation for DUI. Officer Vasquez took case# 18-987.

On April 29th at 9:19 pm, Officer Parsons was dispatched to the 600 block of Marina Vista for a man causing a disturbance. Officer Parsons contacted the man and found he was intoxicated. Officer Parsons arrested him for public intoxication and booked him into MDF. Case# 18-995.

On April 30th at 6:05 am, Officer Lincoln responded to the 2000 block of Elderwood Drive for an auto burglary. The rear passenger window was broken on the victim’s General Motors truck and a work tool was stolen. The theft occurred between 10:00 pm the prior night and the time of call. Case# 18-996.

On April 30th at 9:46 am, Sergeant Ferrer arrested a man behind Wing Stop for possession of methamphetamine and Identity Theft. Case# 18-997.
