Martinez Police blotter for Sept. 16-31, 2019

On September 16th at 8:50 am, Officer Estanol took an auto burglary report at Alhambra High School, where a credit card was stolen out of the vehicle. Case #19-2521.

At 5:14 pm, Officer Estanol arrested a male at Marina Market for public intoxication. Case #19-2527.

At 2:23 am, Officer Breinig made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Arnold Drive. The female passenger was arrested for a warrant. Case #19-2528.

At 1:31 pm, Officer Miller arrested a male for abusing 911 at a residence in the 400 block of Richardson Street. The male called 911 over 35 times during the day, even after being asked to stop abusing the system. He was booked into MDF. Case #19-2443.

At 9:33 pm, Officer Voyvodich arrested a male for possession of controlled substance while investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 2400 block of Olive Drive. Case #19-2544.

At 8:00 am, Corporal Mayberry took a vehicle burglary report from a resident in the 5500 block of Likins Avenue. The vehicle window was smashed and electronic testing equipment was taken. Case #19-2547.

On September 19th at 8:00 am, Police Assistant Tolliver responded to an illegally parked vehicle in the 300 block of Ward Street. The unoccupied vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle. Case #19-2251.

At 9:18 am, Officer Buda took a stolen vehicle report in 800 block of Arnold Drive. Case #19-2550.

At 1:07 pm, officers responded to AT&T Wireless on Arnold Drive for a robbery that just occurred. Within 5-minutes Verizon Wireless on Arnold Drive reported the same. Each employee described the same two male suspects. In the AT&T robbery the employee was directed to the back of the store where phones, watches and ipads were stolen. The Verizon employee was struck and detained in zip ties. She could not access secure areas. So the male suspects left with only two phones. Case #19-2553 and # 19-2554.

On September 20th at 9:19 am, Officer Wah responded to Starbucks, 1000 block Arnold Dr., for two auto burglaries. Both vehicles’ windows were smashed. Case# 19-2562.

Corporal Mayberry responded to a burglary at the Martinez Junior High School. It occurred sometime during the night. The school was having alarm problems so the alarm was not set. The loss was 36 computers. The custodian located garbage bags that contained the stolen computers on the west side of campus near the creek. All but one was recovered and three were damaged. They were stolen from one of the classrooms. Case# 19-2563.

At 12:00 pm, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Shady Glen for an auto burglary in progress. Corporal Mayberry arrived on scene and attempted to stop the suspects who were leaving the scene in a vehicle. The driver failed to yield and Corporal Mayberry pursued the three suspects to Pacheco Blvd. at Camino Del Sol at which time speeds became excessive and the pursuit was terminated. Officers were able to deploy Starchase. Loss is believed to be nail guns/drills. Case# 19-2564.

At 2:15 pm, Officer Wah responded to the 1400 block of Hull Lane for an auto burglary. It occurred sometime overnight. Loss was work tools. Case# 19-2566.

At 10:14 pm, officers responded to the Martinez Junior High school to investigate a report of a subject trying to cut bikes out of the bike racks. The racks were located on the north side of the complex and behind the locked gates. The suspect was gone upon arrival and it appeared someone had attempted to cut the lock off the only bike in the racks. The grounds were checked throughout the night to the extent they could be, since the gates were all locked. Incident 1909200114.

At about 1:00 am, officers responded to Main St. at Ferry St. for a fight involving ten people. Upon arrival, only one person would talk to the police. This person advised that two males were fighting outside of Barrel Aged and numerous people tried to break it up. Someone yelled that the police had been called and the two subjects fled the area. Officers did not see anyone injured and the two involved parties never contacted the police. While in the area waiting for the crowds to disperse, a 25-year-old man from Oakley came out of Whiskey Lane and started to challenge people to a fight. He was contacted and very aggressive towards police. He was determined to be unable to care for his safety and the safety of others due to his level of alcohol intoxication. He was arrested and booked into county jail. Officer Weems case# 19-2572.

At 10:32 am, Corporal Mayberry contacted a man who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into MDF. Case# 19-2574.

At 1:44 pm, Corporal Mayberry was dispatched to 616 Warren St. for a woman causing a disturbance. He contacted the woman who had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and booked into MDF. Case# 19-2576.

At 2:30 pm, Officer Angoco was dispatched to Amtrak for a man causing a disturbance. He contacted the man and arrested him for being under the influence of a drug. The man was booked into MDF. Case# 19-2577.

At 2:33 pm, Corporal Mayberry was dispatched to 889 Howe Rd. #10 for a burglary report. The burglary occurred overnight and the take was 6 rifles, ammo, a 50cc dirt bike and Harley parts. Case# 19-2578.

At 4:44 pm, Officer Wah was dispatched to Morello Heights Dr. for a 77-year-old man not breathing. Lifesaving efforts were not successful and it appears that he passed away from natural causes. Case# 19- 2579.

At 6:24 pm, officers responded to 1780 Muir Rd. for a solo motorcycle crash. Officer Wah, case# 19-2580.

At 11:00 pm, officers responded to 521 Jones St. (Engine 14) for a subject outside acting strange. The woman was contacted and arrested for being drunk in public. She was booked into county jail. Officer Angoco, case# 19-2581.

On September 22nd at 1:48 am, Officer Parson stopped a man and arrested him for driving with a license that was suspended for multiple DUI’s. He was cite released from the scene and his vehicle was towed. Case# 19-2582.

At 8:16 pm, Officer Weems was dispatched to 735 Escobar St. for a theft that just occurred. The suspect was a black male that fled the store N/B on Ferry Street. Sergeant Gaul contacted the suspect in the 400 block of Ferry Street. Officer Weems arrested the suspect for the theft and booked him into MDF. Case# 19-2586.

At 1:28 pm, Officer Miller attempted to contact a male who stole money from Lemon Grass Bistro. The initial contact was Marina Vista Avenue, near Estudillo Street. The male fled from Officer Miller, but was ultimately apprehended and arrested for petty theft and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. Case# 19-2595.

At 7:01 pm, Officer Voyvodich arrested a male for possession of stolen property when he contacted the male for riding a stolen dirt bike around the railroad tracks. Case #19-2599.

At 8:38 pm, Sergeant Salamid arrested a female at Kinder’s for two warrants. Case# 19- 2600.

On September 24th at 12:01 am, Officer Voyvodich responded to the 4900 block of St. Mary’s Street for a male tampering with a vehicle belonging to the reporting person. The investigation revealed that the male arrived to the area in a stolen vehicle. He was arrested for possession of stolen property. Case# 19-2601.

At 8:21 am, Officer Estanol took a burglary report at the marina softball complex. Unknown person(s) pried the door open at the concessions building and stole an AED. Case# 19- 2614.

At 1:35 pm, Officer Miller responded to Luigi’s for a possible robbery. A male simulated having a gun in his waistband when he stole a bottle of Gatorade. He was located a few blocks away and arrested for robbery and possession of controlled substance for sales. Case# 19-2610.

At 7:09 pm, Officer Voyvodich arrested a male at the Mint Vietnamese restaurant for public intoxication. Case# 19-2615.

At 1:34 am, Officer Voyvodich contacted a male during a suspicious vehicle check on Foster Street. The male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

On September 27th at 8:00 am, Officer Weems contacted a 39-year-old woman from Martinez in the 3500 block of Pacheco Boulevard. She was arrested for a $10,000.00 misdemeanor warrant for battery on a police officer. She was also charged with misappropriation of found property Booked MDF. Case# 19-2631.

At 5:00 pm, Officer Angoco responded to North Park Court for an auto burglary. The loss was construction equipment. It occurred sometime between September 23rd and 24th. Case# 19-2637.

At 5:20 pm, Officer Buda responded to a residential burglary in the 200 block of Briar Drive. The work truck was parked in the garage, which was unsecured. Misc. tools and personal property were stolen. It occurred sometime overnight. Case# 19-2638.

At 6:43 pm, officers responded Sherree Dr. for a report of two Pit Bulls that attacked a cat. Referred to animal control, MPD incident 1909270095.

At 9:29 pm, Officer Ramos contacted a 51-year-old man from Martinez on Morello Ave. near Silva Court. The man was arrested and cite released from the scene for a warrant. Case# 19-2149.

On September 28th at 9:00 am, Officer Weems stopped a vehicle on Berrellesa Street at Foster Street. He contacted a 55-year-old man from Pleasant Hill. The man was arrested for possession of meth and cite released. Case# 19-2640.

At 12:00 pm, Officer Buda contacted a 27-year-old man from Antioch at the Transit Hub. The man was arrested for a $25,000.00 misdemeanor warrant and resisting arrest. He was booked into MDF. Case# 19-2641.

At 12:30 pm, Officer Weems contacted a 56-year-old man from Martinez in the 4100 block of Alhambra Avenue. The man was arrested for public intoxication and booked into MDF. Case# 19-2643.

At 1:30 pm, officers were dispatched to Nob Hill Foods for an intoxicated subject attempting to purchase alcohol and disturbing customers. Officers contacted a 40-year- old man from Bay Point. The man was arrested for public intoxication and booked into MDF. Officer Wah, case# 19-2643.

At 2:30 pm, officers were dispatched to CVS, 560 Center Ave., for the report of a 31- year-old man from Martinez trespassing and possibly stealing alcohol. He was arrested for the trespass, but could not determine if a theft had been committed. Booked MDF. Officer Buda, case# 19-2646.

On September 29th at 9:00 am, Officer Weems stopped a vehicle on Alhambra Ave. at D Street. He contacted a 25-year-old man from Martinez. The man was arrested for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Cite released. Case# 19-2654.

At 4:30 pm, officers were dispatched to Rite Aid, 1165 Arnold Dr., for a theft which just occurred. Officer Wah located the suspect leaving the scene. He contacted the 40-year- old man from Bay Point. The man was arrested for theft and public intoxication. Booked MDF. Case# 19-2656.

At 9:26 pm, officers received a license plate reader (LPR) alert on a stolen vehicle on HWY 4. Corporal Breinig located the vehicle and a traffic enforcement stop was conducted on Alhambra Avenue without incident. The male driver was arrested for possession of controlled substance for sale, forgery and possession of stolen property. The male passenger was arrested for possession of controlled substance for sale. Case #19-2671.
