Mt. Diablo School District slates facility town halls

MARTINEZ, Calif. – A series of town halls will let families, residents and business leaders weigh in on Mount Diablo Unified School District’s proposed Family Master Plan for all its schools and charter campuses.

Those attending will be able to view the Draft Master Plan proposals, provide written comments and feedback, and ask questions of the master plan’s design team, LPA.

In addition to the six forums, each school’s School Site Committee (SSC) will asking its local interested parties to provide additional comments.

The results of these meetings will be shared in one-on-one meetings with the design team and the site principals.

The forums will take place in each of six localized communities or high school cluster communities. A seventh forum has been scheduled for the District’s charter school campuses.

For El Monte Elementary, Holbrook Language Academy, Meadow Homes Elementary, Sun Terrace Elementary STEM Magnet, Wren Avenue Elementary School of the Art, Mount Diablo High School, Olympic Continuation High School, Crossroads High School and Alliance School, the forum will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Mount Diablo High School, 2450 Grant St., Concord.

For Cambridge, Fair Oaks, Sequoia, Woodside, Ygnacio Valley Elementary schools, Oak Grove and Sequoia Middle schools and Ygnacio Valley High School, the forum will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Ygnacio Valley High School, 755 Oak Grove Road, Concord.

For Ayers, Monte Gardens and Mountain View, Silverwood and Westwood Elementary schools, Shadelands Preschool, Sunrise Special Education, El Dorado Middle School, Horizons Center for Independent Study, Concord High School, Prospect High School and Summit High School, the forum is at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at Concord High School, 4200 Concord Blvd., Concord.

For Bancroft, Highlands, Mt. Diablo, Valle Verde and Walnut Acres Elementary schools, Diablo View Middle School, Foothill Middle School, Pine Hollow Middle School and Northgate High School, the forum will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at Northgate High School, 425 Castle Rock Road, Walnut Creek.

While one forum’s date is chosen – 3 p.m. Feb. 20 – no site has yet been announced for the forum for Clayton Valley Charter High School, Eagle Peak Montessori Charter School and Rocketship Charter School.

The forum for Gregory Gardens, Hidden Valley, Strandwood, Valhalla and Pleasant Hill Elementary schools, Robert R. Shearer Preschool, Pleasant Hill Middle and Valley View Middle schools, College Park High School, Pleasant Hill Education Center and Vista Adult Center, the forum will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at College Park High School, 201 Viking Drive, Pleasant Hill.

The forum for Bel Air, Delta View, Rio Vista and Shore Acres Elementary and Riverview Middle School will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at Riverview Middle School, 204 Pacific Ave.

In addition, ongoing commentary on the development of the master plan has been provided by a Facilities Master Plan Committee made up of District leaders, school site representatives and civic organization and community representatives, which will meet next in April.
